Truth Be Told With Lucinda Bassett- Stopping Sexual Abuse
Safeguarding your children against sexual predators is not easy. Many parents have preconceived notions that child predators are strangers searching for their children on the Internet, or are lurking around schools and playgrounds. However, young victims were often preyed upon by someone they know. This upcoming Thursday, November 1, I will discuss various issues concerning sexually abused children as well as how to get help. To learn more tune in to Truth Be Told on LA TALK LIVE! at 11am PST. In addition, read through this short article on sexual abuse and how to educate your children on this pressing issue.
Ways To Stop Sexual Abuse
“There are ways to stop sexual abuse, as well as ways to prevent sexual abuse. If you watch certain news magazine shows (like Dateline’s To Catch a Predator), and certain day-time talk shows, you will have a warped view of the current picture of sexual abuse in this nation. Most children who are sexually abused are not attacked by strangers, or by strange men on the Internet, or the creepy guy at the park. Fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, grandparents, community leaders, cousins, siblings, stepsiblings, and church officials are more likely to be the culprits when it comes to sexual abuse. But you are not helpless to stop them.”
